Hummus





Hummus Recipe
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup chick peas
1/4 to 1/2 cup tahini 
1/4 cup lemon juice (juice of one lemon or from concentrate)
1/4 cup water
2 garlic cloves, crushed
3/4 tsp. cumin
3/4 tsp. sea salt
(optional) 1/4 cup Greek olives or 1/4 cup roasted red peppers, one avocado, or 1 to 2 T sweet chili sauce

Directions:
Blend all ingredients together in a high powered blender or food processor till smooth.

  1. thanks for this recipe! much easier than i imagined. do you buy canned chick peas, or get dry ones and cook them?

  2. I cook them...super easy. Soak chick peas in enough water to cover them in the fridge overnight (at least 6-8 hours). Then at least two hours before you need them, put them into a sauce pan, cover with water, bring to a boil. Then turn the heat off and let them sit, covered for two hours. I usually cook more than I need at once and freeze the extra.
